Hyundai introduced its innovative three-door Coupé Hyundai Velo star in a world premiere at the 2011 North American International Auto Show. The 2012 Velo-star delivers innovations in the compact coupe segment with a unique third door for easy access rear seats, blue link Hyundai Telematics system, Pandora Internet Radio with seven-inch touch screen display, and a new 1.6-liter direct-injection engine four-cylinder engine for the first dual-clutch gearbox Hyundai covered transfer programs.

MOTORCYCLE INSPIRATION

Hyundai Velo Star unique design is inspired by a high-performance sport bike. Velo Star has distinctive black A-pillars that give the glass to look for a motorcycle helmet visor. On the front is an aggressive form of Hyundai signature six-sided grille, hood scoop and unique signature detailing Hyundai LED position lights. Optional packages add a chrome grille, piano black highlights, fog, and a huge panoramic sunroof.

The profile of Cycling Star Hyundai features “fluid sculpture” character lines, muscular wheel flares, body-color door handles and mirrors, and the all-around headlights and taillights. Hyundai Velo Star is equipped with 17-inch alloy wheels and offers two types of 18-inch wheels. The top-of-the-line 18-inch wheel comes with painted inserts a segment first.

Dynamic Rear Hyundai Velo-star design has a striking glass hatch, two chromed tailpipes in the middle and black lower fascia that complements the self-confident front.

See inside the center console and the controls as a sport motorcycle tank and a pushbutton starter available. The ventilation openings are inspired by motorcycle exhaust tips, while the center console reflects the bicycle saddle. Metallic accents abound throughout the interior. Aluminum pedals and a leather steering wheel and shift knob-related are also available.

The third door

Hyundai Velo Star combines the style of a coupe and the functionality of a hatchback, but also adding an additional passenger-side door. In the past, uses some sections smaller rear-hinged doors access. GAMMA 1.6-liter gasoline engine

The new Gamma 1.6-liter four-cylinder engine, the smallest Hyundai Motor gasoline direct injection (GDI) is to use. GDI technology delivers an estimated highway fuel economy of 40 mpg, lower emissions and higher reliability.

“Gasoline direct injection technology allows Hyundai’s engineers a powerful engine to make it economical and has less emissions,” said Hyundai American Technical Center Inc. (HATCI) powertrain director John Juriga. “Despite its small size, it generates a large number of songs, both with an impressive performance and 40 mpg on the highway.”

With the help of the GDI, the Gamma 1.6-liter engine delivers a maximum output of 138 hp at 6,300 rpm and maximum torque of 123 lb.-ft. estimated at 4,850 revolutions per minute. But GDI is only part of the story of how the new series also has dual continuously variable valve timing, electronic throttle control, a roller timing chain, variable induction and innovative anti-friction coatings such as CrN Physical Vapor Deposition (PVD) coating, and Diamond Like Carbon (DLC) coating.

New six-speed dual-clutch gearbox

Hyundai’s commitment to the gamma-motor is extremely efficient, developed by the coupling with a standard six-speed manual transmission or a completely new six-speed dual-clutch transmission (DCT) from Hyundai.

Hyundai new DCT takes advantage of a manual transmission, including fuel economy and sporty driving, and mixes them with automatic benefits such as high comfort and a smooth shift quality. In addition, the DCT allows direct connection for high efficiency and uninterrupted operation during torque transmission. Automatic transmission and fuel loses power in the torque converter.

Further improvements of the DCT compared with a standard automatic transmission includes a five fifty-five percent improvement in fuel consumption and six fifty-seven percent improvement in acceleration.

Hyundai Velo Star DCT can be seen as two conventional manual transmission, each with its own clutch, in parallel and alternating shifts. Hyundai Velo Star is a six-speed transmission with a clutch of one, three and five, the other for two, four, six and backwards. This shift results in fast, smooth transitions with no loss of efficiency is usually associated with torque converter. The clutch has electric motors for the operation, an external shock and improved NVH.

The powertrain is also an Active Eco-mode that the engine and transmission control for reduced fuel consumption, the change translated into more than seven percent improvement in the real world fuel consumption.

WORLD CLASS performance weight

ADVANCED STANDARD security technologies: PART OF THE STATEMENT OF ASSURANCE HYUNDAI commitment

Velo Star has an exceptional level of standard safety features of the sports car segment. Hyundai Velo has a Star Vehicle Stability Management (VSM) system, the optimal management of ESC (Electronic Stability Control) and the Motor-Driven Electric Power Steering (MDP).

VSM works to control for two effects. The first is when the driver accelerates or brakes on a split-mu surface (smooth on one side, dry surface on the other side) and pull the car in one direction. In the digital age, all wishing to be connected to its electronics any time, so Hyundai Velo Star comes with a seven-inch multifunctional touch screen display. When starting the engine on, the screen comes alive with a Hyundai Velo-star image and a unique sound. There are three layouts, the user can choose.

Pandora Internet radio is built into the Hyundai Velo star. The screen has an icon to Pandora Internet radio streaming from iPhone, Android and Blackberry. Pandora can also be displayed on the screen and numbers can be given by the famous Pandora thumbs up or down by a symbol.

Gracenote improve the way Hyundai Velo Star drivers to access and manage their music with cover art licensing, improved voice recognition capabilities and “More Like This” automatic play list. Gracenote song metadata helps to organize your music collection manager and employee specific genre classifications (eg, indie rock, R & B, Classic) with the identified tracks. This Hyundai Velo Star drivers targeted shows like music playlists with just one keystroke or voice command with Gracenote Playlist Plus ™ technology.

MediaVOCS Gracenote ® technology improves the accuracy of speech recognition capabilities of the system for music search and navigation, allowing the driver to look for bands, artists and albums, hard-to-talk names, irregular spellings and nicknames. For example, the system helps Gracenote MediaVOCS understand the names of artists such as Beyonce and AC / DC. And drivers can “The Boss” as a voice access tracks by Bruce Springsteen.

Gracenote also provides the 3D Carousel Hyundai Velo Star album cover, to produce a driver interface that makes it easy to search music, select album cover art and display during playback. The combination of these features Gracenote technology provides Velo Star driver to manage in a safe and easy way to enjoy their music on the road.

The main unit has virtual CD download, which is like a 10-CD changer on board. With this feature, up to 10 CDs stored on the memory systems. The memory system also allows for viewing and saving of JPEG images, AVI videos and MPEG videos from a USB stick.

One of the unique features of the display is an Eco Coach scoring system. This system recognizes economic driving with an eco rewards points, and it accumulates over time, for a total eco-score. The Eco Coach also provides immediate feedback fuel, so drivers compared to their average fuel consumption to other Star bike owners.

With video games as an important element of entertainment, Hyundai built-in USB connector, RCA jack and 115-volt outlet in the Velo Star Hyundai on game consoles support for ultimate gaming sessions and in the parks.

Hyundai Velo star has two audio systems. Standard is a 196-watt AM / FM / Satellite Radio/CD/MP3 audio system with six speakers and iPod ® / USB / AUX inputs. A 450-watt premium audio system with eight speakers dimensions, including an eight-inch subwoofer and external amplifier is available. One XM Satellite Radio interface is also integrated into the head and is equipped with XM channel logos and data services such as XM NavWeather ®, XM and XM stock ticker sports ticker.

A Bluetooth hands-free system with voice recognition and audio book download streaming standard. Touch-screen navigation is optional. The system also integrates a rear view camera, which can not be found on the CR-Z or TC.
