The assignment to the designers had to be expressed with a simple, sensual and inviting new family vehicle design philosophy of Renault in the MPV class. To achieve this, the designer combines sensuality with a monospace architecture. The result is a compact MPV measured 4.25 meters long, with a silhouette that is sleek, powerful and sporty.Renault R-space concept brings long not seen opposite qualities: family, functionality, sportiness and sensuality,” explains Axel Breun, director of design for the concept and show cars. “It meets the expectations of many of our modern society. The tapered profile of the side window emphasizes the dynamic profile, while the large windscreen and panoramic roof – the thickness of gradual change – the passenger compartment in a cozy cocoon of the shadows.
The nose of the Renault R-space concept is the new visual identity (focusing on the large, vertically oriented Renault tablet) for the proportions of an MPV. The body panels are carved in the form of volume, which means that the eye is much more to the play of light and reflections, as the lines themselves attracted. The body design uses powerful forms inspired by the human body. “With the R-space, it is the energy stored in the tense muscles that inspired me,” says Fabrice Pouillé, exterior designer. “I wanted people to urge they feel to caress your body so sensual – despite the fact that this is an MPV designed for families.
